For many years, jewelers and gemologists the world over have known how important the cutting of a diamond is; the Fourth C (the other three being Carat weight, Color, and Clarity).

At Samuel Gordon Jewelers, we use photospectromic technology developed by a physicist, a mechanical engineer, and an electrical engineer to measure the "light performance" of each and every diamond we present to our customers. This state-of-the-art method, developed by the Gemex Systems, Inc., definitively gives us information regarding the most important benefits of any diamond: it's brilliance (think of the wattage of a light bulb), it's fire (the variety and intensity of spectral colors seen), and it's scintillation (think "sparkle", or, "twinkle"). A very few number of all diamonds receive ratings for these three elements of over-all "light performance" that include TWO "very high" ratings, and one "high" rating, and, even fewer diamonds receive three "very high" ratings across the board.

When diamonds fall into this elite group (we like to refer to these as "beacons at the proverbial cocktail party"), we dub these very special gems as "Samuel Gordon Century Diamonds", in honor of the fact that our firm has searched for the very finest "light performers" for over 100 years. We have an array of these very rare and special diamonds in most shapes, sizes, and price ranges. We invite you to see them in our store soon!
